Armed Security Officer – Skid Row / DTLA

Treston Security Services is hiring experienced Armed Security Officers for SRO-style residential properties in the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles.

Pay: $23.00–$27.00/hr DOE
Location: Skid Row / Downtown Los Angeles, CA
Shifts: Morning, Swing & Graveyard
Parking: Provided

Position Overview

We are seeking professional and experienced Armed Security Officers to provide a highly visible security presence at residential/SRO-style properties in Downtown Los Angeles.

This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to appropriately handle challenging interactions and security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional and visible armed security presence
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and surrounding property
• Assist with access control and unauthorized-person prevention
• Observe, document, and report suspicious activity and security concerns
• Professionally address disturbances and property-related incidents
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques when appropriate
• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
• Complete accurate daily activity and incident reports
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, property staff, residents, and visitors
• Follow all post orders and Treston Security Services policies and procedures

Required Qualifications & Equipment

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

• Valid California Guard Card – PHYSICAL CARD REQUIRED
• Valid California Exposed Firearm Permit – PHYSICAL CARD REQUIRED
• Candidates must have their physical Guard Card and physical Exposed Firearm Permit in their possession. Providing only a license/permit number or online verification will not meet the requirements for this position.
• Must possess their own firearm authorized for use under their applicable permit
• Must possess their own duty belt
• Must possess their own magazines
• Must possess at least one authorized non-lethal defensive tool and any required permit/training
• Must meet all applicable requirements to work an armed security assignment in California
• Must be willing and able to undergo a drug screening
• Must be willing and able to undergo a background check
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication and verbal de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations

Previous armed security experience is strongly preferred. Experience working in residential, SRO, supportive housing, Skid Row, or similar environments is a plus.
