SKID ROW UNARMED SECURITY OFFICERS – MULTIPLE POSITIONS
Location: Downtown Los Angeles / Skid Row Area
Pay Rate: $19.00–$20.00 per hour, based on experience
Available Shifts: Morning, Swing, and Graveyard

POSITION OVERVIEW
Treston Security Services is hiring professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for a permanent supportive housing property located in the Downtown Los Angeles/Skid Row area.
Officers assigned to this location must be comfortable working in an active urban environment and interacting professionally with residents, visitors, property management, service providers, and individuals experiencing homelessness or behavioral health challenges.
This position requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, professional communication, and the ability to use verbal de-escalation techniques when responding to challenging situations.

• Weekday and weekend availability may be required
• Officers must be available to work assigned holidays when scheduled
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a professional, alert, and visible security presence
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and surrounding property areas
• Conduct routine interior and exterior foot patrols
• Assist with access control and enforcement of property rules
• Observe and report suspicious, unsafe, or unauthorized activity
• Respond appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, and resident concerns
• Use professional communication and verbal de-escalation techniques
• Contact emergency services when circumstances require immediate assistance
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol documentation
• Immediately notify Treston management of serious incidents or emergencies
• Coordinate professionally with property management, law enforcement, fire personnel, and emergency medical services
• Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, incidents, and property operations
• Follow all post orders, company policies, and client-specific procedures
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid and current California BSIS Guard Card
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be comfortable working in the Downtown Los Angeles/Skid Row area
• Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to report to scheduled shifts consistently
• Must possess strong communication, observation, and customer-service skills
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful or confrontational situations
• Must be able to write clear and detailed activity and incident reports
• Must have reliable transportation or another dependable method of reporting to work
• Must maintain a working cellphone for communication
• Must maintain a professional appearance and comply with all uniform and grooming requirements
• Must successfully complete all applicable company screening and onboarding requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in permanent supportive housing, residential security, affordable housing, social-service environments, or similar assignments
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, or substance-use concerns
• Previous training or experience in verbal de-escalation, crisis response, access control, and incident reporting
• Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to conduct interior and exterior patrols throughout the assigned shift
• Ability to climb stairs and work in varying weather conditions when required
• Ability to remain alert and responsive throughout morning, swing, or graveyard shifts
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
